Children's Tea Parties

Children's tea parties are a wonderful way to have quality time with our children.  The memories will last forever and may be be carried on as a family tradition.  You might want to send out invitations to grandma, and your favorite aunts, but whatever you do, don't forget to invite your teddy bears.

You can start of with a sing along of "I'm A Little Teapot"

I'm A Little Teapot
(music copyright 1939 Kelman Music)

I'm a little teapot short and stout;
(stick your tummy out and pretend you are very short)

Here is my handle
(place your hand on your hip, so your arm is a handle)

And here is my spout.
(Bend your other arm and hand like a spout)

When I get all steamed up,
then I shout:
Just tip me over and pour me out!
(Bend over and pretend you are pouring out your tea!)

As everyone takes their seat for tea, ask someone if they would be a reader.  (reader - the person reading a storybook)

Remember:

Tea parties are for little boys too.  Children, weather boys, girls or a mixed group at a tea party will be a forever memory.  A memory to be treasured and past down to future generations.  May I suggest you keep a memory journal to pass along as the strongest memory is weaker then the palest of ink.

Children seem to be growing up faster and there childhood innocence last such a short time.  By having an afternoon tea party, reading stories, even a craft time every week will stay with them for a lifetime.  Make it a magical time and enjoy.

Until we meet again,
